2016 has been an interesting year to get through. As it draws to a close and 2017 looms ahead of us, we are all taking time to look back on the year.

And while it was a year full of ups and downs, it was considerably marked with the passing of some beloved icons.

For this reason, it seems the general consensus for 2016 is that everyone wants it to be over. Let’s take a look at all the celebrities we have lost this year.

2016 started with a huge blow, when singer David Bowie passed away at the age of 69. He had been dealing with liver cancer for the past 18 months but never went public with the news. He passed away two days after his 69th birthday and the release of his album ‘Blackstar’.

Harry Potter' actor, Alan Rickman died on January 14, 2016. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer but withheld from everyone that it was terminal. When he passed, his fans created a memorial underneath the ‘Platform 9 ¾’ sign at London King’s Cross railway station.
