Police Issue Warning About Suspicious Halloween Candy

Halloween might be over, but most parents know the importance of checking their kid’s candy and inspecting it closely to make sure it's safe to consume. Police in Ohio warned parents about a certain type of candy that were found in many trick or treat bags that appeared to be tampered with.

WKYC reports that police officials in Wakeman, Ohio had notified parents about a candy that seemed ‘very suspicious.' The candy known as Lemonheads, looked as if the candy wrapper was slightly opened.

Police in Wakeman posted the warning on their Facebook page saying ‘CAUTION: It was brought to our attention by a couple people that some candy passed out in town today is very suspicious.’

The warning continues: ‘If you and your children have Lemonheads from trick or treating today please double check them. There are multiple instances of the packages being opened slightly and the candy itself looking distorted. Please check all candy before letting anyone eat it!’
