Robert and Ara Hunt had three adopted children: Cody, Siara and Shyann. One day, Ara received a call from Court-Appointed Special Advocate, Virginia Barrett, telling her that she knew Siara’s biological brother, and was wondering if they wanted to meet him. The couple initially said no, as they knew nothing about the then 18-year-old boy.

Meanwhile, a local tv station did a story on the kid aging out of foster care and being on his own. Robert saw the segment and saw something in the boy. ‘I was just knocked down,’ he told People magazine. ‘I think I’m a pretty good judge of character, and I saw good character in him.’

The couple started texting the boy and found he had been in a car accident so they arranged a visit. The meeting went so well that Ara offered him a bed in her house while he recuperated from his accident.

However, the boy never left. ‘Everyone just bonded,’ Ara told People. ‘We felt that this was right, that he was family.’ So they started the adoption process. The kid was so grateful that even before it was finalized, he changed his name to Logan and adopted the family's name: Hunt.
