In Marina del Rey, a retired interior designer named Darlene had to step up to rescue a dog that was close to death. While getting a manicure, she heard conversation about a dog named Smokey that her nail technician wanted to get rid of because her son wasn’t feeding it or giving it water. She wouldn’t even put up the $200 dollars it cost to euthanize the canine, meaning that something was really wrong in this relationship.
