David Blaine was recently on ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’ where he did incredible card tricks. The 43-year-old magician ended the show by regurgitating a frog, and then swallowed it back down. In this video by Vox, it is explained just how he does this, and it turns out that it isn’t actually magic. The truth is, Blaine really does swallow the frog.

A magician based in the UK named Kieron Johnson is one of only a handful of people in the world who performs regurgitation tricks. He explains that it's a relaxation technique where he can control objects as they travel down his esophagus, and then bring them back at will.

The video also explains water spouting where the performer drinks dangerous amounts of water and can spout it out as a continuous stream. Both David Blaine and Keiron Johnson can do this trick which dates back to the 1600s and the Vaudeville days.

Blaine tells Fallon about a performer from the 1900s who was known as ‘The Human Aquarium’ named Mac Norton. This performer would swallow an abundance of things like frogs and goldfish and bring them up one by one.
