Indiana Town's Entire Police Force Quits

The entire police force in Bunker Hill, Indiana walked off the job during a routine town board meeting. The officers blame the Bunker Hill Town Council for the issues. Former Bunker Hill Town Marshal, Michael Thomison, said: ‘We have had issues with the town board and there are some activities there where I felt like they were serving their own agenda.’

Thomison has held the position of Town Marshal for four years and, at the board meeting, he turned in a resignation letter for himself and his four unpaid deputes. In the letter, Thomison outlined some of the issues that they had with the board.

He explained that the board had asked the police force ‘to be involved in illegal, unethical and immoral things over time.’

This included requests for criminal background checks on other board members, and other confidential information. The officers claim that they were threatened when they said no to that. He added that the board had cut the department from nine to four deputes, and that they all had to share one set of body armor.
