Bad news for creepy dudes who think screenshotting a message that’s meant to be private is okay. When Instagram launched the new feature that allows users to ‘disappear’ photos and videos, the company also included a screenshot notification.

What this means is that if someone sends you a photo that you’re only allowed to see once, and you take a screenshot, Instagram will notify the person who trusted you.

Now, this may or may not make your persona non grata after such offense, but that will totally be up to the other person.

Thankfully, this will only happen for the ‘disappear’ photos. Everything else is still up for grabs, so feel free to screenshot whatever photo you like, as long as it’s not private.
