Maria Kang made headlines and basically became the most hated woman in the world for calling out moms who are not necessarily in the best of shape. Most people reacted negatively to her, but some applauded her. She was called a:

Being a parent is a 24/7 job that exhausts you mentally and physically. Most moms are juggling so many things that fitness and appearance takes a back seat to the more important stuff.

Maria made an Instagram post heard around the world. It was of her with her three kids, and she is obviously a very physically fit person. It carried the caption ‘What’s your excuse?’

Her Instagram at the time seemed like it was dedicated to fat-shaming and showing off her own physically fit body.

She was doing a lot of interviews and continued with the narrative that out of shape people are essentially that way just because they are lazy.

Maria grew up with a mother that struggled with her weight her whole life. Her mother, Caroline was diagnosed with diabetes in her 20s, had a stroke in her 30s, and a kidney transplant in her 40s.
