New Drug Sweeping The Nation Killed Two 13-Year-Old Boys

Ryan Ainsworth and Grant Seaver, both 13, were best friends living in Utah who shared a passion for skiing, biking and skateboarding. They were what people call ‘adventurous kids’. However, in September, they passed away within 48 hours of each other. The cause was the same: drug intoxication.

The drug that killed them is so new that at the time of their death, it didn’t have an official name. It did, however, have a street name: ‘pink, pinky’ or ‘pinkie,' and it makes reference to the pinky finger people use to inhale the drug--nothing to do with its color, as it’s a white powder.

There’s very little information on what it can do, but one thing is for certain: the opioid, technically referred to as U-47700, is a lot stronger than people realize; eight times stronger than morphine, to be exact.

It was four years ago that this ‘pink’ drug took a deadly turn when it claimed a life that caught police’s attention.
