The revolutionary hair color company known as Splat, has recently released a colorful collection of hair dyes designed specifically for brunettes. With the rainbow coloured hair trend in full swing, Splat has made dying your hair without the damaging effects of bleach that much easier. The Splat Midnight Collection comes in three vibrant shades that include:

  • A ruby red
  • A deep blue indigo
  • And a purple amethyst

While other hair dyes typically last in the hair for a few weeks, Splat’s products are the only color on the market that last 6 weeks or longer.

In fact, many Splat customers have noted that the hair dye adheres to their hair for months.

Although their new collection is targeted for brunettes, the new shades also work well on lighter hair colors.

Brooke Shunatona, a writer for Cosmopolitan, spoke directly with rainbow hair expert Aura Friedman, on whether Splat’s new hair color collection is damaging on the hair.

‘As long as you’re not lifting any color out of the hair shaft and just depositing pigment into it, coloring your hair at home won’t really cause any damage,’ explained Friedman.

‘What causes damage with box color is when ammonia, peroxide, or bleach is involved,’ says Friedman, ‘which are all necessary to extract you hair’s natural pigment.’
