‘TIME’ Magazine Person of the Year is an annual issue from the news magazine. Fun fact, it was called 'Man Of The Year' until 1999. The title is given to a person that ‘for better or for worse...has done the most to influence events of the year.’ It began in 1927 with American aviator, Charles Lindbergh.
The issue always comes out at the end of the year, and this year it's none other than President-Elect Donald J. Trump. However, this isn't a huge surprise. Since the inception of the list every single POTUS except for Calvin Coolidge has received the title.
Donald Trump is one of two Presidents to receive the title before going into office, the other is Dwight D. Eisenhower. Of course, coming from one of the most controversial elections in American history, people feel some kind of way. So they took to Twitter to air their feelings.
Twitter user @scattermoon did a little bit of photoshop to tell us how they feel about it. Here is one panel of a popular comic, where the dog is thinking to itself ‘Everything is ok’ while everything burns around it. Message received @scattermoon.
Paddy Power took a comedic approach to the situation.
Nothing like drumming up some election controversy and making a clever joke at the same time.
Remember, no matter how bad you may think Donald Trump is, there is always someone worse.
