Dating can be hard, and finding the right way to break the ice with a guy can be challenging for people.
Caitlin Whitlock is a 21-year-old student at Michigan State who was inspired by a book on how to talk to guys. Using her book as a reference, Whitlock took one of the pickup lines from the book to start up a conversation with the opposite sex.
The book, ‘A Smart Girl’s Guide to Boys’ by American Girl Library, came out in 2001. The 21-year-old thought using a line from the book would be the perfect icebreaker.
The pickup line she used read, ‘I wish they’d teach us more about Vikings.’ Whitlock started using this line when chatting with guys and, soon after, other young women started using the phrase for themselves.
In this tweet, the girl uses the pickup line and the guy she's talking to seems genuinely interested in the topic, explaining why there isn’t much information on Vikings.
In this text message, the girl says the Vikings line and it seems to open up a conversation about television shows.
This message shows that many guys are actually interested in talking about Vikings, and they seem to know a lot about them.
