It looks like there’s some drama (surprise, surprise) among this year’s The Voice judges. Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have kicked off the latest season of NBC’s hit show, but on a recent episode, tensions were high between the four.
For anyone who hasn’t caught the show, the concept of the series is to find unsigned singing talent in unexpected places. The Voice has a panel of four judges who listen to the auditioning talent and fight for the artist they want to work with. This is where the competitive side of the judges comes out.
Because they’re building a limited team of singers, if the judges find a talent they really like, they’ll throw it all out there to convince the singer to choose them as their coach.
Alicia Keys, clearly wanting to be the winning coach this year, got a little feisty over a certain talent. In an attempt to convince the singer to choose her, Keys threw a little shade at her fellow judges.
Keys suggested that she was the only judge who could sing within a similar range to the contestant, so she would be the best fit as their coach.

So were the judges. Adam Levine had something to say about it.
Kelly Clarkson was clearly confused by Keys comment as well: Just look at the face she gave after her comment.
People on Twitter had a lot to say about the shade Alicia Keys threw at Kelly Clarkson too.
Clarkson fans came to the singer’s defense, criticizing Key’s comments for not only being insensitive but also wrong.
Clarkson fans came prepared and even offered proof of the singer’s incredible range, sharing moments from her Carpool Karaoke segment. What do you think? Was Alicia Keys out of line?
