By now, most people have probably heard of the tragedy that struck Manchester, England. On Monday, May 22, several explosions detonated that left many people dead and injured several more. It was near the end of the concert as Ariana Grande was leaving the stage when two bombs went off. Among the dead are children, teenagers, women, and men. According to the police department, 22 people have been confirmed dead and another 59 are reported to be injured.
Ariana Grande’s manager has confirmed that the singer is ‘OK.’ Concertgoers reacted on social media as bombs went off inside the arena shortly after Ariana left the stage. Emergency service providers, as well as the Manchester police department, have confirmed the number of deaths and injuries.
Hysteria ensued as people tried to flee the arena and emergency personnel tried to enter and save those who were hurt. In an interview, an unnamed witness said: ‘everyone immediately started running out and screaming. It’s absolute chaos. There’s a helicopter circling the area and armed police officers everywhere.’
The eyewitness continued: ‘lots of people are stranded because the trains aren’t leaving Manchester now and the bus station is closed. We’re stuck in the car park.’ Ariana was set to go on her world tour and perform in London on May 25 but has since canceled her tour after the terrorist attack.
