Everyone hold onto your hats…the time has finally arrived. Amid ongoing speculation and rumors over the past week, it’s been announced that Beyonce has given birth to her twins. And if you were wondering what kind of double trouble Queen Bey and Jay Z are in for, wonder no more. Beyonce and Jay Z are now the parents of a baby boy and a baby girl.
TMZ has reported that Beyonce gave birth to the twins earlier last week. Sources have confirmed to US Weekly that the babies were delivered on June 12.
Although the names of the babies have yet to be officially announced, the Internet is absolutely freaking out about the news.
The twins have reportedly been kept in the hospital since their birth last week due to a “minor issue” that has kept them in the hospital’s care for one week.
Sources close to the family say that the twins were born in a Los Angeles hospital last week and that doctors did not feel comfortable releasing the twins until the minor issue had been resolved.
The news comes amid speculation all week that Queen Bey herself was in the hospital. Last week, Jay Z was MIA at the 48th Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala in New York City.
He was scheduled to accept the award and the honor of being the first ever rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall.
“Thank you to all the people that have inspired me,” he wrote in a Twitter post in acceptance of the award.
Barack Obama himself recorded a video for the rap star commending him for his work and for being a great father.
“Jay and I are also fools for our daughters although he’s going to have me beat once those two twins show up. Jay, you have been inspiring in making me want to be active in my retirement just like you’ve been in yours,” Obama said in the video.
Jay Z’s absence from the event came at the same time that Beyonce was rumored to be in labor after heavy security was spotted outside of a hospital in Los Angeles.
The world can still feel the shockwaves of the Twitter explosion that happened on Sunday after Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles, posted a digital birthday card on Twitter announcing the arrival of the twins.
The birthday card read: “Happy Birthday to the twins! Love, Granddad.”
“Bey and Jay are thrilled and have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends,” a source close to the family told PEOPLE.
Fans around the world are twiddling their thumbs, waiting impatiently for the names and first pictures of the newborn twins. Beyonce and Jay-Z welcome the two babies to their family five years after giving birth to their first daughter, Blue Ivy.
