Dan Bilzerian, the millionaire King of Instagram, recently sat down to do an extensive interview with Square Mile magazine. He revealed a number of things, including the fact that he’s drinking and gambling less. More importantly, he revealed something no one knew about: he’s in a monogamous relationship.
He told Square Mile magazine: “Yeah. Got a girlfriend. First time.” This comes as a surprise to many. The 38-year-old professional poker player boasts a lifestyle of lavish spending, boat parties, drinking and being with many women at the same time. He chronicles his outlandish life via Instagram, where he has 22.6 million followers.
His new girlfriend, Sofia Bevarly, is a 21-year-old model who has made regular appearances on his Instagram snaps. Bilzerian revealed during the interview that they met at a party where he was with three other women before he met Bevarly. Bilzerian told the magazine: “We started hanging out. She’s a little different, you know? She’s smart, she’s cool, and she liked a lot of the same [things] I like. So here we are.”
During the extensive and in-depth interview at his Las Vegas home, Bilzerian opened up and discussed the very specific woes in the romantic life of a millionaire: “A girl has to be super-hot now for me to be even semi-interested. You just get pickier. I think that’s true of everything. Money, toys, girls—all the hedonistic stuff. You just raise the bar.”
Bilzerian splits his time between his home in Hollywood Hills and Las Vegas. On top of owning properties in Los Angeles and San Diego, he’s also allegedly worth $100 million. Before he became a poker superstar, he was training to become a Navy Seal but he couldn’t finish due to a safety violation.
During the Square Mile interview, Bilzerian toyed with the idea of becoming president of the USA. He said that the first item on his agenda would be to legalize drugs. He believes that the reason there’s a drug problem is that all substances are illegal, making it a treacherous and deadly business.
On top of winning multiple poker tournaments, the most notable being the 2009 World Series of Poker, Bilzerian also co-founded Victory Poker, an online poker room.
