Warning Signs Someone Is A High-Functioning Alcoholic

Middle-Aged Woman Pretends To Be In Her 20s, Drains $1.2M Out Of Boyfriend

A 42-year-old woman from China was able to fraud her boyfriend out of more than a million dollars (6 million Yuan) after using makeup to disguise herself as someone much younger. According to Chinese news site Sina.com, 42-year-old Wang Jingjing used superb makeup skills alongside a little bit of Photoshop to deceive 30-year-old Li Xiaoqing in Shenzhen.

Jingjing was able to use her new identity and appearance to befriend Li and ultimately the two became a couple. Throughout their time together, Li would make regular transfers to Jingjing’s account.

But it was on March 22nd when Li’s older brother, Li Daqing, went into a Shenzhen police station to report that more than 6 million yuan had been stolen from their family business’ bank account. The older brother confronted Li about the missing funds since he was the one in charge of the business’ finances.

Eventually, the 30-year-old younger brother confessed to giving some money to his girlfriend, Jingjing. Jingjing claimed to have insider investor knowledge and so Li was willing to invest some money into her. Furthermore, Jingjing received money after claiming that her mother suffered a stroke and needed surgery as well as funds to cover a family member’s gambling debt in Macau.

As reported by Shanghaiist, it was later found out that between 2016 to the end of 2017, more than 150 transfers were made from Li’s account to Jingjing’s. The amount totaled to more than 7 million Yuan (around $1.2 million) but Jingjing transferred approximately one million Yuan back to Li after claiming she made ‘dividends’ off her investments.

As reported by Singapore’s publication Stomp, which takes pride in having the ‘most awesome citizen journalists’, police found out that Jingjing was actually born in 1976 and not 1990. It was also reported by Stomp that when police tried to have Li identify her with her identity card, he was unable to do so.

Li went on to say that every time Jingjing met with him and his brothers she would always wear heavy makeup. A spokesman from the police said: ‘If I hadn’t studied her for such a long time, I wouldn’t have been able to identify her at all when I saw her in real life.’ When Jingjing was finally arrested, she confessed to her crimes and said that she hid from Li her actual age as well as the fact that she had a 20-year-old son.
