Conan Pokes Fun At Trump And Obama Phone Calls With His Own Witty Brand Of Humor

Since Donald Trump was elected as the 45th President of the United States of America, late night comedy has had a field day. Regardless of whether you agree with his or the outgoing administration’s policies, just the familiarity Trump has with Hollywood and show business was enough to put a target on his back for shows like Saturday Night Live and The Daily Show.

His unique way of speaking gives them even more joke-fodder, as an impression of the new President (along with the old ones) is funny just in its accuracy. That’s what fuels Conan O’Brien’s recent series of sketches, which imitate phone calls between “The Donald” and Barack Obama leading up to his inauguration.

In the latest edition, published to YouTube just a week before Trump was sworn in, takes jabs at Trump’s Twitter usage, the repealing of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and a ridiculous reference to “Dr. T and the Women” a movie starring Richard Gere and Helen Hunt.

“Has anyone ever done [the State of the Union] over Twitter, using only emojis?” Trump asks as a frustrated Obama tries to explain the importance of the annual speech. Coming a little too close to home, the Trump has been using the @POTUS Twitter account to issue press releases like “I will be making my Supreme Court pick on Thursday of next week. Thank you! -DJT” The State of the Union doesn’t seem that far off.

Conan was pretty even throughout the campaign, often taking shots at Hillary Clinton as well. The new administration doesn’t look like it’s going to get off easy though, as this series is one of his biggest hits online.

With two pretty great impressions of the Presidents, this could easily be a running gag for the entirety of Trump’s term in office, which he hilariously believes is only four-months according to the latest video.

Probably the best part is that Trump calls Obama “Bar”, intimating that he calls him up often enough for nicknames. How long until we see a tweet reading “Tried to watch Conan O’Brien last night – unwatchable! Not funny, and the impersonation can’t get any worse. Sad.”?
