Eric Bolling is a 54-year-old Fox News host who spent a decade working with the network. He is most known for his role as a co-host on ‘The Specialists’ before the show was cancelled. But last Friday, the network ‘cut ties’ with Eric after allegations came out that he was sexually harassing three female colleagues.
In a statement, Fox said: ‘we thank Eric for his ten years of service to our loyal viewers and wish him the best of luck.
But more bad news came when his son, Eric Chase Bolling, was found dead in an apartment in Boulder.
According to the Boulder County Coroner’s Office, Eric, who was 19 years old, was found dead in his apartment. They have since completed the autopsy but won’t reveal the cause of death until another six to eight weeks.
The office said that they would continue to investigate the case. A tweet from Eric Sr. confirmed his son’s death.
The younger Eric was studying Economics at the University of Colorado Boulder at the time and some reports cite suicide as the cause of death but the elder Bolling denied those claims.
Eric said that the authorities informed the Bolling family that there was no indication ‘of self-harm at this point.’
The younger Bolling died just hours after his father was fired by Fox News over the sexual harassment allegations.
The allegations which came from a HuffPost report stated that Bolling had texted photos of his genitalia to three female colleagues.
The elder Bolling has denied those claims and is now suing the aforementioned reporter for 50 million dollars. However, Fox News announced that it had cut ties with the elder Bolling and in a follow-up statement offered their condolences after learning of Eric Chase’s death.
According to TMZ, sources told them that Eric Chase was going through ‘emotional torture’ due to his father’s termination with the network.
