Matt Walsh is a writer for The Blaze, and recently sparked up some controversy with a tweet he posted. The tweet was about Manny Mua, a YouTuber who has over 2 million subscribers. His videos mostly consist of makeup tutorials and he even has 3 million Instagram followers.
Walsh posted a picture of Manny in a tweet, writing: “Dads, this is why you need to be there to raise your sons.” Twitter users and Manny fans galore rushed to defend Manny, calling Walsh judgmental and telling him that his following completely pales in comparison to Manny’s following. One of the first people to defend Manny, though, was his very own father.
He sent Manny a text message telling him to post a message on all his social media platforms. Parts of the message read: “I’ve always been there for my son and will ALWAYS be there for him. Not only am I proud of what he has accomplished but I’m more proud of the person he has become,” the message read.
“I know the words you speak are from lack of knowing anybody from the LGBT community. If you did, you would soon realize they are some of the most real and kind-hearted individuals that walk this planet of ours.”
His father ended off by giving Walsh some advice: “Going forward, I would choose your actions and words wisely. Just like you would do anything for your family, I would do for mine. Good day sir.”
Manny’s fans from around the world expressed their admiration for his dad. Several fans also said that they admire his dad’s constraint and his willingness to defend his son.
Manny Mua was recently introduced as the newest face of Maybelline, and is the first male Brand Ambassador the company has ever had. Manny is embracing the new role and clearly has millions of supporters who embrace him as well.
