From the days of MSN messenger and now to Skype, FaceTime and all sorts of video and conference calls, the methods in which we communicate with one another have only improved. Even with text messages, we are not just relegated to sending one message to one person, we can send out a swath of messages to a huge group of people.
But group chats are generally split into two very distinct categories; you either want to leave the group immediately due to the incessant notifications or one that is composed of a small group of close friends.
But this one woman was accidentally added into a group chat that she didn’t belong to and the results were hilarious!
Facebook user, Christi Rantis Lally, posted a series of screenshots from her phone this past week. The images showed a bunch of text messages.
The caption read: ‘this past week I received group texts BY accident. They are a bunch of parents and a coach for some kid’s soccer team.’
‘Instead of telling them they had the wrong number, I did this. I am a horrible person… I’m so sorry Coach Juan.’
The initial messages simply show when the time of practice is and when Coach Juan would like to meet the players. The members of the ten-person group chat all respond with a yes.
However, one ‘parent’ jumps in with a snarky comment. ‘My kid is the best on the team… just sayin’.’ The parents were obviously upset at this statement and began questioning why ‘this person is acting this way.’
‘It’s not the talent or the goals, it’s the time the kid actually gets on the field,’ was one parent’s response to her. Other parents simply stated: ‘good for him, so why is he playing for the village?’
But the joke didn’t stop there, Christi continued to compliment her nonexistent soccer star son. She said that her little boy had been ‘scouted’ and had even met Christiano Ronaldo.
The parents were rightfully upset with one parent saying that he was ‘pissed.’ The group of parents unanimously agreed that they would like to meet Christi in person at the meeting.
However, Christi didn’t let up, she began to berate the parents about the quality of the snacks recently and say that she was only going to be present if the snacks ‘were good.’
She wrote: ‘I will only come depending on the snack situation. As I mentioned.’ The final images only show her complaining about how pudding cups weren’t ‘acceptable snacks.’
Her posts have since been shared and liked all over the world and her most recent social media post was a repost from George Takei’s Facebook account where he wrote: ‘I got a kick out of this.’
Strangers have since messaged Christi asking if the parents are aware of this story yet and whether or not the quality of snacks has improved.
