Game Of Thrones Director Unveils What Was Really Going On With Jon Snow’s Sword

Ever since Game of Thrones started their latest season fans have been going insane over the tiniest hints and the smallest details. For those hawk-eyed viewers who are watching and pausing at every moment, there are a lot of tiny hidden details that most people may have been unaware of.

However, before we proceed I must warn all readers that there will be spoilers in this piece. On the most recent episode, viewers and diehard fans couldn’t help but notice something unique and creepy about Jon Snow’s Valerian steel sword, Longclaw.

When Jon Snow climbed out of a pool of icy cold water, viewers were quick to point out the fact that Longclaw opened its eyes when Jon re-emerged from the water. Twitter user, Lacey Putman said: ‘Longclaw opened its eyes when Jon got out of the water’ while Reddit user, miba54, said: ‘I can’t be the only one who noticed this about Longclaw.’

As viewers speculated this interesting detail with a possible reunion between Uncle Benjen and the Night’s Watch, director Alan Taylor was quick to dismiss that theory. The director returned back to the series after directing the final two episodes of Season 1. He also went into detail in regards to the tensions between Jon Snow and Khaleesi. During the interview with Insider, this is what Alan had to say: ‘that is so funny, somebody else mentioned that to me and I haven’t got a clue what they’re talking about. So either this sword is magic and it’s doing stuff on its own or something happened. I’m going to have to go back and watch that moment close up and in slow motion to see what’s going on there. I can say that there was no intention for that to be the case.’
