The moment you meet your newborn child, grandchild, niece or nephew is one you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Seeing this tiny infant wriggling and squirming is one of the most adorable things anyone will ever witness, except of course for one woman in South America.
According to an unconfirmed report out of The Mirror, a Colombian woman wasn’t too happy when her daughter brought back a young grandson (not pictured). Instead of taking him in her arms and loving him with all her might, she stormed back to the hospital and tried to return him. A mistake, she told the attending nurse, must have been made.
She claimed that the hospital had mixed up her grandson with that of another family, as no one in her bloodline could be that ugly. The hospital told her that he had been the only male child born that day, and that there couldn’t have been a mistake; that was in fact her grandson.
“The grandmother was not very happy. She did not identify the baby as a new member of the family and therefore she decided to come back to the clinic along with the mother of the baby to return him,” said Carlos Palleras, the health secretary on Santa Marta city council. It’s amazing that the mother allowed her to come back with her infant child.
It was revealed later that the grandmother had been treated in the past for psychological issues and council spokesman Chadan Rosado warned not to rush judgement on her. The woman, who was never named, may have suffered some sort of mental lapse.
At the hospital, the staff gave the child another check up for any deformities before returning him to the family. He is apparently healthy and happy following the ordeal.
If the report is true, it wouldn’t be the first time someone tried to return a child. Tony and Melissa Wescott of Oklahoma (pictured) once tried to return their 11-year old adopted son because of psychological issues and what they claimed were violent tendencies. Make sure you are ready for the consequences before becoming a parent, it’s not something you can quit.
