If you don’t know who Olga Pronina is, she’s been dubbed Russia’s most good looking female motorcyclist. Sadly, the 40-year-old mom of one was killed in a horrific crash while racing down a motorway last week. Olga was racing through the city of Vladivostok in Russia.
According to The Sun, Olga lost control of her BMW motorcycle and plowed into a side railing last Monday evening. The daring brunette had over 150,000 followers on her social media and was described by friends as an adrenaline junkie.
Known as “Monika” by fans on Instagram, she was thrown from the bike and died before the emergency services could reach her. Her friends told news reports that she loved riding at high speeds. She would post videos on her Instagram of herself going at high speeds on her bike.
The Sun notes that in one of her last videos, the “need-for-speed” biker is riding her motorcycle sideways while drinking from a straw.
She captioned the video, warning fans “Doing 250 km/h and holding [something] on hand is very uncomfortable…”
Olga continued, saying “I don’t recommend. But I got my adrenaline dose.” Local reports have said that Olga has gathered up dozens of speeding offenses.
Friend Eduard Hasanov told local media: “She was breaching every rule of safety and riding at high-speed, her death is incredibly tragic.”
Another friend who came to the scene 10 minutes after it happened told news reports: “She was high-speeding and the rear wheel of the bike was lying 600 meters from the scene”
According to The Mirror, Olga wrote: “I love it because it forgives me my foolishness. Thank you for never failing me, for making my lonely nights better, for helping me to forget troubles of my life.”
Police and friends are unsure whether or not Olga was out filming while she was riding her bike, but generally, her death is not coming as suspicious.
Fans were pretty quick to react, one writing on her Instagram page: “Condolences to the family and friends, this is a huge tragedy. Sleep calm, crazy girl”
