The highly anticipated sequel to the 2015 blockbuster smash Jurassic World just released a new teaser that, although it’s only 15 seconds long, has us absolutely enthralled with the fate of our new favorite characters. This film marks the fifth in the Jurassic Park franchise to hit the big screen. Jurassic World earned a whopping $1.6 billion at the box office, placing it as the 4th highest grossing movie of all time.
Produced by Amblin Entertainment and Legendary Pictures, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is slated to be released in June 2018 and will no doubt prove just as worthy at the box office as its predecessors. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and B.D. Wong are set to reprise their roles, as well as a cameo by Jeff Goldblum reprising his role as the infamous Dr. Ian Malcolm from the first two Jurassic Park films.
Although Colin Trevorrow did not return to the director’s chair, he made writing contributions to the plot alongside Derek Connelly, who wrote the first Jurassic World film, as well as Kong: Skull Island. Although new to the industry, Derek Connelly is also slated to co-write the highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode IX. Directing Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is J.A. Bayona, who previously directed The Orphanage and A Monster Calls.
In the teaser, we see Pratt’s character, Owen Grady, running from something unknown until the camera pans back and makes it clear that his character is in far more danger than he anticipated for returning to the island. We can also see Bryce Dallas Howard’s character Claire Dearing along for the ride. Obviously, we think both characters are regretting returning to the island after this fiasco occurs. Like many other characters in the Jurassic universe, perhaps everyone is just a glutton for punishment! Why do they keep going back to these islands!? Well, at any rate, we’re excited to see what the adventure has in store. There will be many more teasers released in preparation for the highly anticipated first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in the following days, so stay tuned!
