People Are Losing It Over Lindsay Lohan’s New Accent

Americans tend to be pretty enamored by people who speak with an accent. Who doesn’t love a good English accent? But now, people online are becoming obsessed with a completely new accent (currently known as “Lilohan”) after hearing Lindsey Lohan trying it out during an interview.

Entertainment reporter Perez Hilton tweeted a video of the actress speaking with her new accent and people can’t get enough of it. “#LindsayLohan has a new speaking accent/mannerism – and it is the most odd and fascinating thing,” Hilton tweeted. The three minute long video shows Lohan doing an interview with the media. However, viewers aren’t focusing on what she’s saying but HOW she’s saying it.

She talks about helping refugees in Turkey but the internet seems to only be focusing on her new accent. Many have said it sounds almost like a mix of Irish and Italian. Whatever it is, people are loving every second of it. Lohan has also acknowledged her new sound saying it’s a mix of different accents.

“It’s a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn,” she revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail. “I’ve been learning different languages since I was a child. I’m fluent in English and French can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian, and Arabic.” She also tweeted to the media outlet and asked her Twitter followers what she should name the new accent.

Right now, it’s currently being called “Lilohan” and people are totally on board with it. “New goal: become fluent in #LILOHAN,” writes one Twitter user. We won’t be surprised if this actually becomes a thing.

But this is still a work-in-progress. In fact, Lohan has no problem giving the power to the people when it comes to naming her accent. “We should let the people decide,” she said to The Daily Mail.

For those interested in picking up the accent, we recommend you watch the entire three minute video. You’ll pick it up in no time.
