Man versus python. A 23-foot-long python. Who would win? Well apparently if Robert Nababan was in a fight with a huge reptile, he would win. He’s from Indonesia and never thought he’d see the day he’d get into a fight like this one.
He came across the massive reptile while he was on a road in the Indragiri Hulu Regency of Riau Province in north-western Indonesia. The 23-foot-long python was blocking the path of two pedestrians. But don’t think this battle was so easy.
Actually, it was a pretty gruesome and bloody fight and Nababan definitely came out of it with a number of battle wounds. If a massive animal like that was in my path, I’d probably choose to wait it out a bit until it was gone. I’m sure most of us would.
But not Robert. He clearly had some serious road impatience that almost brought him to an early death. The 37-year-old fully decided to hurry the snake along.
The snake got pretty upset when Robert was rushing it. You’d be pretty annoyed too if you’re just hanging out, minding your own business and someone invades your personal space, no?
Nababan was on his way home from work when he saw two people blocked from crossing the road by this giant snake. He figured he could help out.
Not even a minute into the fight did he become locked into a bloody battle with the snake. The python sunk its teeth into the man’s arms.
He was seriously struggling but managed to kill the reptile. Shortly after, Robert was rushed to the hospital for his wounds to be treated. The damage was pretty severe.
Robert suffered from a deep incision in his arm and severe exhaustion. According to The Sun, Robert said from his hospital bed, “I tried to catch it. It bit my arm and we wrestled for a while”.
He is a security guard who works on a palm oil plantation in the Indragiri Hulu Regency area of the country. He is now fighting for his life in the hospital.
The now deceased python was left on display in the village-hanging across a washing line. This story is a good lesson for us all to have patience and to let animals be.
