Man Who Wanted To Become An Elf Reveals His Transformation To The World

You may say you love Lord of the Rings, but you probably don’t love it as much as Luis Padron. The 25-year-old Argentinian loves fantasy so much that he’s spent $27,000 to transform himself into an elf.

As a young teen, Padron was bullied for his counterculture interests and unusual fashion sense. Instead of letting it get him down, he channeled his frustrations into a passion for fantasy. At twenty, he took the first steps of a journey he’d been dreaming about since he was fourteen and got his first cosmetic surgery.

Since then, Padron has had a number of cosmetic surgeries to give him the “inhuman, ethereal” look that he wants. He also spends 5-7 thousand dollars a month on beauty treatments to preserve his look. So, what exactly do you need to do to transform yourself into a modern-day Tolkien character?

His very first surgery involved Botox injections and face-slimming, to give him the ethereal look embodied by Peter Jackson’s cinematic elves.

He also had his skin lightened, and his body hair and freckles removed.

“Real” elves seem to stay like that naturally, but for Padron, it’s a little more difficult; he needs to constantly apply 100 SPF sunscreen to stop his ultra-fair skin from burning.

In perhaps the most mundane alteration, he’s had his hair bleached, and he’s grown it almost long enough to pull off whatever’s happening here.

Of his many surgeries, the most unusual is the one he’s currently undergoing. When completed, it will change the color of his eyes from a soft brown to an icy blue.

So far, his eyes haven’t gone blue, but they’ve gone a lovely shade of gray. And Padron hopes that when the surgeries are complete, he’ll be able to have pale blue eyes without contact lenses

Unfortunately, this treatment isn’t without cost. The treatment wasn’t medically-approved, and for a while, after it was done, he had to use eye drops and very dark sunglasses to block out the light.

Though he has since recovered his vision, it was difficult for him to see for the first few days.

Though he’s done so much already, Padron hasn’t finished his transformation.

His greatest desire is permanently changing the shape of his ears so that he doesn’t need to rely on prosthetics anymore.

He also wants to have hair implants to give his face a more heart-shaped hairline and rib-removal to give him a thinner waist. Most dramatically, he’s planning on getting bone-lengthening surgery so that he can stand at 6’5″.

Although I’m pretty sure that bringing a short friend around with you is cheaper and easier. I guess that method is for those who can’t undergo expensive surgery.

Padron knows that a lot of people think what he’s doing is weird, but he isn’t that fussed by what other people think of him.

As he told the Daily Mail, “I have my own beauty ideal and want to achieve that no matter what. I want to be an elf, an angel and a fantasy being, my aim is to look inhuman, ethereal, graceful and delicate.”

Padron has changed his look into a lifestyle, and is easily financing it through modeling, appearances, and selling cosplay merchandise. With any luck (and barring any health complications) he’ll be able to complete his transformation into a fantasy creature.
