Meghan Markle Received An Incredibly Patronizing First Present As A Member Of The Royal Family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to be married on May 19, 2018, at the St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in England, which is said to be a favorite venue of the Queen’s. But after the announcement of the pair’s engagement, Meghan was basically already a part of the royal family.

At the beginning of every year, the royal family releases a list of all the gifts they have received throughout the previous year.

So depending on which country or state a member of the royal family visits, that will dictate what gift they received.

It has been reported that Prince Harry proposed to Megan Markle over a homecooked meal of roast chicken. It was this proposal that prompted the term ‘engagement chicken.’

And on a trip to Finland, Prince William was asked to give a special gift to the newest member of the royal family. It was an apron. Now while many people called this gift ‘sexist’ and ‘patronizing’ it is unclear at this time what the real intent of the gift was.

During the Duke’s visit to Finland, he was given an apron to give to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The gift list simply shows that the apron was from an ‘individual’ and it was received by Prince William ‘on behalf of HRH Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle.’

This is the first recorded time that Meghan Markle has appeared on the royal family gift list.

Prince Harry is shown on the list as having received a bunch of ‘his and her’ gifts. These included: ‘two jackets, two leather holdall bags, two leather belt-bags, two leather zipped pouches, two leather passport holders, four leather wristbands, two ice hockey pucks, two baseball caps, two t-shirts and two sports polo shirts.’
