Mother Has Ridiculous Response To Daughter’s Gay Friend Staying The Night

Do you have friends that are close with your parents? If you do, it’s probably because your parents are pretty awesome. When your friends and parents get along, it typically makes your life easier and it also makes for some pretty hilarious situations.

This is somewhat the case for Mason Brian Marclay. Though it seems that he’s never interacted with his friend Houston’s mom, the mother’s response to his request is definite proof that the two will get along just fine.

The story goes that Houston was planning on having a sleepover at her house and inviting a bunch of her friends. Like most parents, her folks have a rule against boys sleeping over. The reason for this is obvious enough – parents don’t want their children fooling around with the opposite sex.

Mason appears to be aware of this rule, but wanting to join in on the fun and seeing as he’s gay and uninterested in fooling around with any of the girls, he decided to send out a formal proposal to the mother.

He acquired her number from Houston, and texted her mom the following message:

“Hey Mrs Shelton! This is Mason Brian Barclay, I am one of Houston’s best friends. If she had people over on Friday would I, a very homosexual male, be able to take part in the sleepover? think the common meaning behind only allowing the same sex to share sleepovers is due to the typical interest in the opposite sex, when in this case, I do not like the opposite sex. Thank you for your time and consideration, have a great night. Amen.”

Mason posted this message on Twitter and everyone instantly fell in love with Houston’s mother.

Twitter user Julie Martineau also joined in on the praise adding, “That took guts, and this mom acknowledged it *fabulously*! I wish you a fun night with your friends! Stay away from Houston’s dad, now.”

Houston’s mother’s response, “Hmm. Well, my husband is hot. Should I worry?” is the perfect mixture of the kind of acceptance the world needs and witty humor. Twitter user Pete replied, “Literally just choked on my coffee from laughing about this. Best mom response ever.”

Dr. Paula agrees, as do we, that the response was hilarious. She wrote, “I’m laughing so hard I just spit out an almond I was eating!! This by far, the best Tweet, best mom answer, and if the Dad is hot…call me.
