People Share The Worst Things They’ve Ever Seen At Weddings

Weddings are supposed to be a joyous occasion for everyone involved, but not all celebrations go according to plan. The forced merging of two different families in combination with rowdy old friends, unpredictable plus ones, a surmounting pressure for everything to go perfectly, and an open bar can easily become a recipe for disaster.

Everyone wants their wedding to be memorable, but some end up being so for more calamitous reasons. One Redditor asked the community what’s the worst thing they’ve ever seen go down at a wedding, and the responses are painfully cringe-worthy. Here are 25 stories of dream weddings that quickly became absolute nightmares.

1. Father of the Bride: “I was an attendant in my best friend’s wedding. Her father was walking her down the aisle and it quickly became evident that he had already had too much to drink. He was stumbling with each step and the bride’s face looked more embarrassed than ecstatic. When they got to the altar, he stepped on the back of her dress while trying to walk behind her to get to sit in the pew. Her dress ended ripping all down the back exposing her red thong to everyone in attendance. They had to stop the wedding so she could find safety pins.” (Reddit user: 3Suze)

2. Bouquet Toss: “When it was time for the bouquet toss, there was this middle-aged man who dragged his girlfriend out on the floor and stood by her so she wouldn’t leave. The bouquet was caught by an excited little girl, but this man yanked them right out her tiny hands to give to his girlfriend. He then proposed. The little girl ran away crying.” (Reddit user: xjrob85)
