Cop Notices Boy Walk Into Police Station, Quickly Sees What's Around Boy's Neck

Sometimes the youngest people have the biggest hearts. Deanna Hooker’s five year old son Jayden wanted to do something special for police officers in Charlotte, North Carolina. Deanna explained that her on the night of September 21, 2016, her son woke up hearing helicopters and police sirens as officers were handling the mob scene that occurred after the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott the previous day.

Deanna posted to Facebook saying ‘My son heard helicopters and sirens all night and woke up crying.’ She was taking him to school the next day, and they heard on the radio that some police officers had been hurt during the protest.

Jaden immediately wanted to help, and Deanna says ‘He asked me if he could bring the police donuts and give them hugs for all they do.’

She added ‘It is amazing how much children can teach us during times like this.’ Deanna later took her son to the police station, and he was carrying a box of donuts and wearing a sign around his neck that said ‘Free Hugs.’
