A 9-month-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier took the liberty of chewing up her owner’s designer Christian Louboutin high heels. Emma Norman came home to find the shoes completely destroyed. The 37-year-old from London said, “When I walked into the bedroom and saw the massacre I just stood there in shock. I was quite calm as I didn’t believe what I was seeing.”
Her dog, Dora, had a field day with the $700 shoes, gnawing off part of the shoe’s special La Aichinger heel as well as damaging its signature red heel. The loss of the shoe was especially upsetting for Norman as she had been saving up for six months in order to afford the pair.
She told Caters News, “I’d wanted a pair of Louboutins my whole life and decided to save up […] I saw this pair and just loved the netting and T-bar on them.” Norman believes that the puppy probably knocked the heels off of a dresser in her bedroom before reaching the heels.
She said, “The chest of drawers is quite high so I didn’t think anything of it. I didn’t think she could get up there.” After she came home, found the shoes in their abysmal state, and the guilty pup, Norman shot a video in which the puppy looks adorably guilty and apologetic.
In the video, Norman can be heard asking the dog, “Look at this. Who did that?” In response to her owner’s question, Dora wags her tail and hangs her head, looking undeniably ashamed.
Dora later covers her guilty face with her paw. Speaking on the incident, she said, “She’s such a good girl and never done anything like this before – I can’t be mad at her.”
Norman tried to get the shoes fixed but was told by a cobbler that the shoes were beyond repair. She also stated that she won’t be trying to claim them through insurance because she is pretty confident that they won’t buy the excuse “the dog ate my shoes.”
