Different stages of a relationship can signify how intimate you are with your partner. For example, if the relationship is new, you might be intimate with each other every chance you get. But it’s natural for that intimacy to slow down.
According to Abraham Maslow, sex is a necessity just like food and water is. With that said, what would happen if you have sex every day?
American author Brittany Gibbons explains that when she had sex every day for a year, she gained more confidence in her body and the communication between her and her partner grew. Unfortunately, some sex therapists don’t believe that sex every day can help your life that easily.
Clinical Director of Harley Therapy, Dr. Sheri Jacobson, had an interview with Indy1000 and explained that Gibbons’ experience is widely different than what most people’s would be.
She explains that Gibbons was in a safe relationship where she could say yes and no to anything, which allowed her to be vulnerable. Having sex every day in this type of relationship could lead to body confidence, Jacobson added.
But she also states that having sex every day could also do some emotional damage to a person. Jacobson explains that if someone is having intercourse with multiple partners and strangers, it could lead to feelings of shame and worthlessness.
For some, it might just be a game where they want to keep the record going. If we’re not thirsty or hungry, we don’t eat or drink. So if we’re not aroused, why have sex?
