Robert Mugabe recently resigned from his position as the president after ruling Zimbabwe for more than four decades. Army generals said that they wanted to avoid a ‘dishonorable exit’ for the 93-year-old. These officials said that Mugabe and his family could remain living in Zimbabwe. Mugabe and his wife, Grace, were offered immunity from prosecution after resigning. Mugabe ruled Zimbabwe since their independence in 1980.
Emmerson Mnangagwa, Mugabe’s former vice-president, will be sworn in as president on Friday.
However, Mugabe’s children, as well as his allies’ children, have long been known to flaunt their wealth online.
Mugabe’s two sons, 24-year-old Robert Jr, and 20-year-old Chatunga Mugabe are known to be big spenders. In September, Chatunga purchased two Rolls Royces.
During his time studying American Architecture in Dubai, Robert Junior showed up to school in a black Batmobile. He also showcased his private jet with a gold interior on his Instagram.
Chatunga is known as one of the country’s biggest spenders as he was seen on a video pouring a bottle of Ace of Spades champagne over his diamond-encrusted Rolex watch.
In a country where 93 percent of the population is estimated to be living under the poverty line, the Mugabe family seems to be living lavishly.
