All you Carrie Underwood fans have probably been wondering where she’s been these past few months. She hasn’t made any appearances lately. And she hasn’t performed in quite some time either. What’s been going on? A lot apparently.
Back in November 2017, the country star fell outside her home, and it was serious. The fall resulted in a broken wrist and injuries to her face. No one really had an idea of how bad it truly was until the singer posted a recent photo.
She took to her Instagram and shared an image of an x-ray of her wrist that shows the extent of her injury…and let’s just say it looks REALLY painful. On her post, she wrote, “Last check up on the old wrist this morning!!”. She continued, writing “Thanks, Dr. Wurth and my PT angel, Renee, a.k.a. ‘Bulldog’ for fixing me up!!!! I’m good to go!”
If you look closely at the photo, you can tell that there’s actually a piece of hardware that’s keeping the singer’s wrist attached to her hand…ouch!
Underwood’s fans wasted no time to comment on the photo, showing their love and support and wishing her a speedy recovery. I’m sure their words really did a lot for Carrie, who was in a ton of pain from her reportedly serious fall.
One fan commented, “Wow! That’s a lot of metal! Best wishes for a complete recovery. Come to Hammond, La!!”. Another wrote, “I read about your accident and I am so happy that you are okay and healing. God is good!”
After her surgery, Underwood turned to Twitter, writing “I just wanted let everyone know that I’m doing great. Had surgery on my wrist yesterday and all went well…even though I’ll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on…I’m so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family and friends who’ve been taking such great care of me”.
As for Underwood’s facial injury? Well, that one she hasn’t shared just yet. She did send out a letter to her fan club on January 1st, writing that the injuries on her face are pretty serious. She wrote, “In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well…”
She continued, writing, “I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike (my husband) that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in.” She also preceded to tell her fans that the next time they will see her, she might look a tad different.
But regardless how severe her injuries are, it hasn’t stopped the musician from slowing down. In fact, according to news outlets, reality star Adrienne Gang of “Below Deck” spotted Underwood on December 12th working out at a gym. She tweeted the photo of herself with the star and the singer looked healthy and happy!
Gang also noted in her caption that she found Underwood to be extremely “adorable and gracious” and that in terms of her face, she didn’t notice anything drastically different about it. Nor did she see any remarkable scarring or cuts. In fact, Underwood looked so good, she couldn’t even tell that she had taken a fall!
