Imagine waking up in the morning of your birthday. You’re feeling good, the sun is shining and you’re ready to get your day started. You get all dressed up, eat your breakfast and decide to go for a morning drive.
This is exactly what Resham Khan was planning on doing the morning of her 21st birthday. She had gotten ready to go out with her cousin in the morning. The two were in the car, hanging out and blasting some music.
Everything was going pretty good. The girl tweeted: “On my actual birthday, my cousin and I went for a drive in the morning, blasting music and chilling like cousins do, hyping it as I WAS 21.” Suddenly, everything went wrong.
Out of nowhere, the girl told reporters, a man approached the car as the two waited at a traffic light and threw liquid at her.
Her window was opened. The assailant then ran around to the other side of the car and threw more of the liquid onto her cousin.
The Sun reports that the girl said: “The pain was excruciating, I was struggling to close the window. My cousin struggled to get us away.”
She continued, “He put his foot down as we were coming onto a dual carriageway but the pain took over and we crashed.”
She also mentioned that she and her cousin took their clothes off in the middle of the road and ran screaming, asking for water.
Only after about 45 minutes, Khan said that another driver stopped and drove the pair to a hospital. They were then transferred to a specialist unit.
Khan had just returned home from a year exchange in Cyprus. She described how the assailant ran around to the other side and threw more onto her cousin.
Her cousin said how Resham has always been a very confident person and had plans to do modeling for various artists. Now she feels as though her identity has been taken away from her.
